Many people know that excess weight or body fat puts them at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. But one of the factors that can increase one’s risk of developing this disease is stress. Stress puts your body into fight or flight mode. So, as a result, hormones like adrenaline and cortisol rise and this can impact your glucose levels. Also blood pressure increases. If you are diabetic you need to be aware that stress can cause your blood sugar to rise and can cause even further insulin resistance. I personally use brain wave entrainment audios to help me reduce my stress levels. Also physical exercise and as Tim points out in the video gaining a proper perspective about lifes issues helps. Also a physical injury such as a fall or a car accident can cause stress levels to rise and can cause a rise in your blood sugar.
